Using Workflows on SharePoint online

In order to be able to use Datapolis Workflows, user must have certain permission levels set in SharePoint. Below you will find minimal permissions required for specific workflow usage tasks.

Permissions to run workflows

In order to start workflow user need to have below permissions to specified objects:

List and Item Permissions

  • Add Items - Add items to the lists and to the document library.
  • Edit Items - Edit items in lists and edit documents in document libraries.
  • View Items - View items in lists and documents in document libraries.
  • View Application Pages - View, and application pages. Enumerate lists.

Site Permissions

  • View Pages - View pages in a Web site.
  • Browse User information - View information about users of the Web site.
  • Use Remote Interfaces - Use SOAP, Web DAV, the Client Object Model or SharePoint Designer interfaces to access the Web site.
  • Open - Allows users to open a Web site, list, or folder in order to access items inside that container.

Permissions for launching workflow actions

In order to start workflow user need to have below permissions to specified objects:
